Fresh, euphoric and multifarious, that is how the BOLZANO FESTIVAL BOZEN moves between periods. No other festival of this kind puts as much emphasis on ‚Music and Youth’. With appearances from the European Union Youth Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Academy, the glory and splendour of the most outstanding talents in Europe are showcased, and under the guidance of established superstars like Johnathan Nott, Renaud Capuçon, Andrew Litton we can expect performances of the highest calibre. Partner Antiqua pays homage to this year’s three major anniversaries, that of Händel, Haydn and Purcell. The Bolzano String Academy, which also accompanies the Mozart piano concertos of the Busoni Piano Competition, pays tribute to the fourth anniversary, that of Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. The Haydn Orchestra, on the other hand, will perform an entertaining summer programme in the arena at Semirurali Park, and will provide the music for the Finalissimo of the Busoni Piano Competition, which this year will have many novelties for the 27 finalists. There will be a second jury, for example, which is composed of music critics from Japan, Italy, England and Germany, there will be a new price for the interpretation of contemporary piano music, and new is also a collaboration with the Merano Music Festival. The president of the main jury, Lilya Zilberstein, will take to the stage with her family for a virtuoso performance of a family musical soirée.
BOLZANO FESTIVAL BOZEN is a festival of classical music experiences: because nothing is more contagious than the uncompromising energy of young and highly talented musicians.
